Echo Fox

Introduction / Team Overview

Echo Fox Lol team are a North American team owned by film and television star and former NBA player Rick Fox. The acquisition of Gravity Gaming back in 2015 saw the birth of Echo Fox, named after its owner. With only David “Cop” Roberson being kept on from the previous team Echo Fox was left to find and recruit a brand new roster. The team have struggled since formation and only just avoided relegation in 2017 NA LCS Spring Promotion tournament.

Highlights / Strengths

One of Echo Fox’s strengths is undoubtedly the commitment of their owner Rick Fox, who has remained with his team through the troubling times. With Rick opening the team to some new talent like the former RNG top lane Looper and ex-P1 support Gate, 2017 would need to see a revitalised sense of synergy in the team.

Branding / Sponsorship / Logo

Echo Fox’s logo is a stylised Fox head and tail folded round almost in the shape of a flame. The primary colours of the logo are a brick orange and white, to make up the tip of the tail. The logo is a representation of the name “Echo Fox” and links back to the owner Rick Fox who founded the team. Wallpapers for the team follow a blue and orange design with the main fox logo sometimes filled in all blue. The jerseys follow this colour scheme. Provided by their sponsor, Jinx, the jerseys feature a blue base and then orange trim around the neck and sleeves with orange slashes along the jersey front and back with a portion of the jersey having an almost foxtail like pattern. For a team that isn’t performing right now, Echo Fox do have some high caliber sponsors including Jinx, hyper and Reload.

Team Roles / Expertise / Divisions

Hyeongseok “Looper” Jang, a Korean top laner is just making his LCS debut. Looper is a veteran to the game, playing back in 2013 and originally known to be an aggressive, multi-skilled summoner. With a track record of success, the ex-Royal player’s talent is much needed at Echo Fox. Not staying put, Matthew “Akaadian” Higginbotham has changed teams for almost two years. But, finally, Akaadian is getting his first shot as an LCS starter with Echo Fox. Now is the time for Akaadin to stay focussed and start building his relationship with the rest of the roster. After preventing the Echo Foxes relegation single handedly, Henrik “Froggen” Hansen will benefit from the roster switch up, using the opportunity to apply his shared experience from playing in Alliance and Elements to bolster the team dynamic with his control mage role. Known as “the motivator”, Yuri “Keith” Jew brings more than just a strong will into the team. Struggling to find his place in the 2016 NA LCS Summer split, Keith rose to the occasion when Echo Fox faced the drop. Austin “Gate” Yu debuted back in 2015 with Team Impulse and is known for his overwhelming optimism. With the roster shake-up in Echo Fox, Gate will have to help hold things together.
